Speakers:

Raymond Roy, Regional Technical Advisor, 

Guardian Industries


Raymond Roy is a Regional Technical Advisor for Guardian Glass. He has over 25 years' experience in the Fenestration Industry and holds a Bachelor Degree from Roosevelt University, Chicago, Il in Software Engineering. Raymond has/is serving on numerous glass industry technical committees, including GANA, IGMA, AAMA and Fenestration Canada. His area of expertise is insulating glass design and application for the residential and commercial markets. He is well versed in the use of glazing design software and daylight design considerations. Before Guardian Raymond held roles as Architectural Sales Engineer, Field Service Engineer (including onsite support of the Empire State Building retrofit), Insulating Glass Production Manager, and is a former US Marine.


Jim Larsen, Director of Technology Marketing, Cardinal Glass Industries


Jim Larsen is a mechanical engineer by training with 28 years of experience in the research and development of residential glass products. Today, Jim's principle job responsibility is supporting the recognition of efficient windows through building energy codes. He also provides product support through website development (www.cardinalcorp.com), product brochures, customer training, and building energy research.


Under Jim's direction, Cardinal Glass has maintained multiple test houses across the country to evaluate the energy impacts of new glass technologies. These fully instrumented real-world test houses have also been utilized by Building America research partners. The integration of the latest glass technologies with improvements to the performance of other building components is demonstrating the efficiencies possible not only in today’s homes, but providing validation on the synergies of building practices needed towards the goal reducing house energy consumption of 50% and more.
